We get a lot of questions what is an Infrared Body wrap and what differentiates that from the other body wraps ?

Most Spas will offer different types of body wraps to rejuvenate the skin, reduce cellulite, assist in weight loss and detox the body. These are, but not limited, to clay, mud, seaweed and herbal wraps.’ An Infrared body wrap is the most technologically advanced option of the traditional body wrap. These are specificaly designed to reduce fat and eliminate cellulite.

Use of The Infrared Technology for Lasting Weight Loss

The traditional body wraps will help reduce temporarilly the water retention in the body. The Infrared body wraps, however, can and will provide lasting results. The Infrard Heat provides energy similar to the energy produced naturally by the body during exercise to boost metabolism. The body releases fat and toxins into the blood stream and is then removed through the urine. The result? Loss of inches and weight with lasting effects.

Use of the Infrared technology for Cellulite Reduction

By causing the body to break down trapped water, toxins and fat, the root of the cellulite, the skin will look smoother, healthier and more attractive. The Infrared thermal energy will have considerable effect in reducing the appearance of the Cellulite. Cellulite is a stubborn condition and comes in different degrees. The results vary for every individual and are exceptional for those who combine regular exercise and proper diet.

Other benefits of Far Infrared body wraps

While you are wrapped and working on your weight and cellulite concerns, the Infrared heat will help you with minor body aches and joint stiffness, improve muscle tone, reduce edema, relieve headache tension and pain.

It is true that most women will have Cellulite at some point in their lives. In fact, Cellulite plagues more than 80% of the adult female population. Cellulite reduction and body contouring sessions are projected to be a massive $3-5 billion dollar market with over 9 million procedures performed annually.

But what causes Cellulite? There are many causes for Cellulite including diet, lack of exercise, genetic predisposition, and inevitable lifetime hormone changes. These factors cause the fat cells in the subcutaneous fat layer to enlarge and stick together inside the pockets in which they are enclosed. The pockets are stretched upward while the fibers between the pockets are strained. Circulation may be inhibited, and toxins and water can be trapped. The result is .. CELLULITE !!!

Over the years, women and professionals have tried different ways to eliminate Cellulite, from weight loss and exercise to creams and invasive surgical treatments. Some of them are expensive and create pain and discomfort with not always satisfactory results. The truth is that there is no proven method that will help to get rid off of the Cellulite. All treatments and techniques focus on reducing the appearance of Cellulite, improving the condition of the skin and the well being of the client since some life changes will be required to achieve and maintain the results. These will include less fat, sugar and carbohydrates in the diet which should be enriched with more vegetables, fruits and lot’s of water. An active physical life will also contribute to the improvement.

In our practice, we use The Dermosonic machine which is a patented technology to effectively reduce the appearance of Cellulite, increase circulation and relieve minor muscle aches. Dermosonic embraces the physical and aesthetic needs of the whole body using a patent technique that has been proven safe and effective.

The Dermosonic method consists of two steps:
In step one, external ultrasound is applied to the target area to gently warm the underlying layer of the epidermis and dermis preparing the tissue for the benefits of the NIST. In step two, Dermosonic utiizes NIST – a vacuum therapy form of lymphatic drainage massage. Using a vacuum hand piece, the Non-Invasive Subdermal Therapy (NIST) mobilizes the warmed connective tissue and drains and flushes out the toxins trapped under the skin. This method helps to a better contouring of the body, increase blood circulation and bring oxygen to the tissues.

The treatment is painless and many clients describe it feeling like a pleasant massage. Clients are required to drink a lot of water before and after each treatment to assist the body in flushing out the fat and the toxins. Treatment usually lasts 50-60 minutes and priced individually or by package for great savings. Results can be seen in the first two or three sessions and research shows that 87% of clients will have 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches reduction in the treatment area in the first session. Usually, depending the type of the Cellulite, ten to twelve sessions are recommended at a rate of two per week. In order to maintain results, one session per month is usually recommended.
DERMOSONIC VIDEO – Dermosonic was recently featured on CBS’ “The Doctors”, a successful CBS show where four renowned physicians give solutions to guests’ issues. Click on YouTube to see it.

Have you ever wondered what the best approach is to flawless skin?

Do you know the difference between “skin type” and “skin condition”? Do you know the difference between “sensitive skin” and “reactive skin”? Do you know the difference between “dry skin” and “dehydrated skin”? Do you know the difference between “oily skin” and “acneic skin”? Do you know the difference between “rosacea “ and “acne rosacea”? Do you know if your skin care regimen treats only the symptoms of your skin problems or if it corrects them? Do you know if your regimen addresses the ever-changing, specific problems and needs of your skin?

Too many questions and details to worry about? You are right! Who wants to know all these specifics when it comes to how your skin feels and looks? What you want to know is whether the skin care products you happen to use and religiously apply on your skin are giving you the best results. But how do you achieve that? By reading the various articles in the magazines, watching the late night infomercials on TV, browsing the Internet or visiting the highly-priced cosmetic counters at the department stores hoping that the salesperson will help you? Chances are that you will get a lot of information about general skin care but not any clear or correct answers pertaining to your own specific skin questions and concerns.

The best resources for taking care of your skin effectively will either be visiting a dermatologist or visiting an experienced aesthetician at a skin care facility. Which one is best?

A dermatologist will usually give you 10-15 minutes of his time to have a quick look at your skin. He will prescribe and recommend a medication (for acne), an anti-aging cream with Retin-A, Hydroquinone, Peptides or AHA for lines and discoloration. If he wants to be a little more aggressive, he will recommend Lasers, Botox and/or different fillers and sometimes deep, harsh chemical peels. All of them involve a lot of discomfort with even more down time. They are quick fixes with short-lived results. Why short-lived results? Your skin (the biggest organ in your body) is changing constantly and will need a new approach every now and then. Even a face lift is a short-lived approach as the skin will always surrender to gravity. But how many face lifts, chemical peels and lasers can one have? And what are the side effects of all these in the long run?

A good aesthetician has been trained in the skin’s physiology, anatomy, and its diseases. She constantly attends various classes and seminars to always be aware of what is new and effective in the ever-changing skin care industry. She has mastered how to give customized treatments, which address both the problem and the well being of her client. As a skin care expert, people consult her every single day to improve the appearance and health of their skin as well as delay the aging process. And above all, an experienced and caring aesthetician realizes that a woman’s beauty is not only about how her skin looks, but also how she feels about herself. That’s why she creates a peaceful, harmonious and welcoming environment. Her knowledge of the skin will recognize the problem. Her expertise and application techniques will treat and correct it. And her careful customized recommendation of skin care products will achieve and maintain the personalized results.

One can have countless laser treatments, chemical peels, face lifts, and needles poking her skin trying to fight Father Time. All of them can be good, however, the hands of an experienced aesthetician are the most effective tools of beauty. She treats the skin and fills the patient with a sense of blissful well being.

Hard to believe that Holidays are here again. Are you ready to get together with friends and family, to go to some great parties, some formal and charity events? Do you want to make heads turning ? Here are some tips for some classic looks, from a dress-to-impress office party to a hot night on the town. Classy make-up always looks timeless and beautiful.

EYES

My favorite one for Holiday makeup is the one that emphasizes on smokey eyes and bold lips. Over the recent past years, smokey eyes have become a new classic. The good thing is that you do not have to use numerous shadows to create the timeless look . You can achieve this with one eye pencil and 3 shadows. The secret is to blend everything and make sure that the lines are not separated. Here, we go:

1. Remove any previous makeup very well. Use first your concealer, if you need one. Start off with a light eye shadow and apply over the entire eyelid, corner to corner, lash line to crease.

2.Use a medium shadow to the outer two-thirds of the upper lid from lash line to just above the crease to see the color when they eye is open.

3. Apply dark eyeliner and circle the whole eye at the lash line.

4. Now with a small fluff brush, apply a dark shadow over the liner, mixing the pencil and shadow together to an edgeless finish.

5. Take a very light shadow and apply to the brow bone.

6. For more intensity, rim the inner part of the eye.

7. Apply many coats of black mascara. (Remember: smokey is blended, so if it doesn’t look right, you need to blend more).

CHEEKS : In this look, keep the cheeks soft.

LIPS

1. Use a hot color lip liner (Don’t forget to line and fill the lips in)

2. Apply the same color in lipstick or gloss.

Here you have it. Sexy eyes and hot intese lips and better be prepared for a lot of attention.

For this look we recommend the Smokey eye shadow trio from Glo Minerals makeup and their new intense red lipstick.

HAVE A GREAT AND SAFE HOLIDAY SEASON !!!!

http://www.makingfacessalon.com Making Faces is excited to be caring DermaQuest Skin Therapy Mineral Makeup. A lot of Cosmetic Companies have introduced during the recent years the use of MINERAL MAKEUP as a better alternative to conventional make up sold at department stores. Technically, mineral makeup began thousand years ago with the use of KOHL in the makeup regimen of Egyptian royalty. Demand for mineral makeup in the United States began to grow because conventional makeup ingredients can exacerbate specific skin conditions. Mineral Makeup does not cause breakouts and can actually benefit the skin. Anyone who used makeup can wear Mineral Makeup – young, old, and in-between – and it is appropriate for every type of skin, regardless of condition.

Making Faces use and recommend DERMAQUEST Skin therapy Mineral makeup which is therapeutic, has a high SPF and provides a natural great coverage. The following list describes the benefits of this particular mineral makeup line.

All natural – Mineral makeup is an all-natural product that also looks natural on the skin. It is free from conventional makeup ingredients that can cause skin problems, including perfumes, dyes, alcohol, oils, fillers, binders, preservatives and talc.

Anti-microbial – The iron oxides present in DermaQuest Skin Therapy Makeup inhibit the growth of microbes. Therefore, it can be applied even immediately after facials, microdermabrasion, resurfacing and peels and laser treatments.

Non-comedogenic – DermaQuest Skin Therapy Makeup does not clog pores as many liquid makeup products do.

Non-allergenic – DermaQuest mineral makeup does not cause allergic reactions.

Anti-inflammatory – Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide used in this mineral makeup are anti-inflammatory treatment ingredients that can help calm irritation. Zinc oxide is also known for its healing properties.

Great SPF – Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide used in the makeup are natural barriers to UVA and UVB. DermaQuest makeup has a 22 SPF and provides substantial sun protection. Minerals physically reflect UVA and UVB rays, so the user does not have to wait 20 minutes for a chemical to be absorbed into the skin. The SPF protection is immediate.

Coverage Control – DermaQuest Skin Therapy mineral makeup is applied in light layers, making it easy to achieve the desired coverage. And a little goes a long way, making it cost effective compared to conventional makeup.

Water resistant – DermaQuest Skin Therapy Mineral Makeup is resistant to water and perspiration, so it lasts through physical activities and environmental exposure, which makes it a more durable SPF.

No “caking” – When applied properly, mineral make up does not build in wrinkles and fine lines the way conventional makeup does.

Good for the skin – Mineral makeup’s anti-microbial qualities and natural ability to prevent sun overexposure makes it a treatment, not just a cover-up. Also, DermaQuest Skin Therapy Mineral Makeup includes antioxidants such as vitamins A, E and others, to enhance the treatment value of the makeup in your every day skin care treatment.

Making Faces is proud to be offering the next generation in clinical skin care treatments and home skin care. For quite some time, we have been researching for the newest and most effective technology in skin care products. We wanted to be able to find a product that would combine the latest skin care technology with the highest percentage of key ingredients that would provided immediate as well as long lasting visible results. After many months of study and trials, we were very satisfied with two new lines which address the Aging Process, Acne problems and the Balancing of the Skin.

(1) RELUMA developed by Invitrx is an Anti Aging serum formulated with Peptides and Matrix proteins produced by stem cell technology derived from human body fat. As we age, dermal fibroplast cells become dormant – skin becomes thinner and loses elasticity. ReLuma’s technology reactivates dermal fibroblasts cells, using your own body’s processes to create more collagen, elastin, and other matrix proteins that are crucial to help your skin look and feel younger.

Other products by Invitrx are: RE LUMA LASH for lash growth without undesirable side effects and quite affordable. INVITRA Hair Complex regenerates and prevents further hair loss for both men and women.

(2) We welcome DERMAQUEST Skin Therapy which offers professional skincare products designed for both clinical estheticians and physicians, whose work goes beyond relaxation and spa treatments. Dermaquest products are the most advanced formulations available anywhere due to the following seven factors: Innovation, quality, value, level of ingredients, layering technology, state-of-the-art delivery systems and Paraben free. Our home care and professional treatment products work together to achieve safe and effective results. This method allows achievement of maximum health and beauty of the skin without inflammation and for any type of skin at any age.

We, at Making Faces, have a passion for your skin and love to see you with a healthy, radiant, free of wrinkles, blemishes and photo damage complexion. If you have the same passion, give us a call (949) 646-5009 and make your first appointment to a NEW YOU! You will enjoy the journey and the experience. http://www.makingfacessalon.com

Have you ever wonder why a professional facial treatment can improve the condition of your skin? The answer is that a true facial is a step above from relaxation. In fact, it is a tune-up for your skin. You may cleanse every morning and night at home and use a mask once a week and, if you are disciplined enough, use your day and night cream regularly. With a professional treatment you get a deeper cleansing than anything you can do at home. You also get a thorough skin analysis, advice and support on what products to use and how to care for it.

Always look for a reputable establishment that takes skin care seriously and their eastheticians have received in-depth skin care training. There are two types of trends among the eastheticians. There are the European perfectionists who get skin squeaky clean by zoning in on every single dirty pore (including those on your ears and nose) and those who are more nurturing and touchy-feely. Identify which is more suited to what you’re looking for. Facials should be designed on the spot and customized according to your particular skin care needs, time and budget.

A typical basic Facial incorporates the following two parts:

(1) Consultation to help understand your skin care concerns and expectations.

(2) Cleansing – which includes removal of face make-up, thorough skin analysis to determine the condition of the skin, exfoliation to slough away dead skin cells, careful exctractions of impurities followed by the use of high frequency for disinfection.

(3) The Treatment Part – which includes the application of a customized blend of oil and/or serums and creams for a luxurious face, neck, chest and shoulders massage and the application of a mask to do one or combination of the following : hydrate, soothe, brighten, firm and dry acne spots.

Your skin care provider will finish the treatment with a moisturizing cream with SPF and an eye cream. She will also suggest what she considers to be the best regiment for you to follow at home.

An overwhelming evidence suggests that chronic exposure to Tanning beds increases the chances of getting Melanoma, a deadly skin cancer that affects people of every age.

“About one million people per day in the U.S. get their tan in Tanning Parlors. People, including young people, die every day from Melanoma and there is strong evidence that exposure to UV radiation during indoor tanning increases the risk of melanoma, expecially when that occurs at an early age. Public support for laws that would make it harder for teens to have access to tanning beds is very encouraging. Such legislation would literally save lives”, said Steven E. Zimmet, MD of Zimmet Vein @ Dermatology, Austin, Texas and advisor to dermanetwork.org.

As a result, many states have enacted laws to stop the proliferation of teens seeking the tanning bed, or at least requiring a minor to have a parental consent in order to tan. Other states have passed stiffer laws that require minors or those under 18 to have a written prescription from their doctors. These laws are needed to emphasize the danger of UV exposure by using the Tanning bed. (for more information please log on www.dermanetwork.org).
